Personal Independence Payment
What is it?
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit for people aged between 16 and 64 who have a long term health condition or disability. If you want to apply then SAIL can help. Just contact us.
PIP is gradually replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA). If you’re getting DLA the Department for Work and Pensions will write to you at some point asking you to claim PIP instead. SAIL can help you.
Two different components
PIP is made up of two parts called components. These are the daily living component and the mobility component.
Each component has two rates, a lower (or standard) rate and a higher (or enhanced) rate.
