Funders

SAIL is an advice service that’s completely free for seafarers and their families.

To do that we depend on the generous support of our funders: Seafarers Hospital Society, The Seafarers’ Charity and Greenwich Hospital. Thank you.

The Seafarers Hospital Society is a longestablished maritime charity dedicated to meeting the health, welfare and advice needs of seafarers. It focuses its help on merchant seafarers and fishermen. The Seafarers Hospital Society provides health and welfare grants to seafarers and their dependants, and to the maritime organisations that care for them.

At The Seafarers’ Charity we’ve been improving the lives of seafarers and their families for over 100 years. We started as the King George’s Fund For Sailors, providing vital assistance in troubled times. Today, we’re guided by the same powerful vision. Through our grant giving, we’re bringing about truly life changing impact for many who work – or have worked – at sea, and their families. Alongside this we’re also using collaboration, research and advocacy to tackle the root causes of seafarer hardship and disadvantage in the UK and around the world.

Greenwich Hospital is a unique Crown Charity, which has been supporting the Royal Navy since 1694. It provides charitable support including annuities, sheltered housing and education to serving and retired personnel of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines and their dependants.
